After numerous leaks, especially so this past week, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered edition is available now but with a few stipulations. For one, it’s a timed PS4 exclusive in addition to being only the campaign at this time.
For now, the remastered campaign is a one-month exclusive for the PlayStation 4, though pre-ordering is available now for Xbox One and PC players. The Campaign Remastered, as the name suggests, does not include any spec ops missions or multiplayer components, instead the team decided to focus on the “full story experience” revamped with high-definition visuals and massive audio improvements.
“Modern Warfare 2 campaign was incredible. We all remember the lasting impression the story left upon us. This campaign was very special and we thank Infinity Ward for creating such an amazing experience,” said Thomas Wilson, co-studio head, Beenox, in a recent press release. “Restoring and remastering this campaign for a new generation of players was a labor of love for our team. We wanted to make sure that the feelings and power of the story were accurately represented with full high-definition visuals and the latest audio fidelity.”
There is also the Underwater Demo Team Classic Ghost Bundle available as well, which includes the UDT Ghost skin, the Task Force weapon blueprint, the One for One weapon blueprint, the Flippers weapon charm, the Belly Flop finishing move, the Stay Frosty voice line, the No Easy Days player card, and the Ghost emblem. This bundle is free with purchase on PS4 or pre-purchase on other platforms is the Underwater Demo Team Classic Ghost Bundle that can be equipped for play instantly in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Multiplayer, Special Ops, and Call of Duty: Warzone.
