Cult of the Lamb never fails to disappoint in bringing consistent content to its game. By consistent, I mean they just keep giving what the fans want and more. On August 12, Cult of the Lamb will add local co-op to the game, including a major update dubbed the Unholy Alliance.
The Unholy Alliance might sound like a DLC, but it is actually a free update. The community made many requests for local co-op, and fans got what they wanted. The developers worked extremely hard to integrate this feature into the game, and they deserve all the praise for delivering it.
Some may ask for online play, but that is still up in the air. If you want to play with your friends online, you can still do it through remote play features. While the main focus of the Unholy Alliance update is the local co-op, there are several new features that are being added to the game.

The Unholy Alliance update introduces a new character, the Goat. Rightfully so, since there is now a local co-op, one will take the reins of the Goat while the other becomes the Sheep. This gives a different feel and perspective to all the exciting features in-game since you are adding another player to your playthrough.
The major update also adds builds, followers, quests, tarot cards, relics, powers, and so much more to the game. If you are thinking of getting the game to play with your buddy, you can check out our Cult of the Lamb review to see what the game is like.
The Unholy Alliance will be released for free on August 12, 2024, for PS5, Xbox Series S/X, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
If you haven’t played the game since 2022, you might need a refresher or two. You can check up on the Cult of the Lamb’s previous Sins of the Flesh update to catch up.
