It appears that Dark Souls fans will have to wait a bit longer to return to Lordran on Nintendo Switch. Earlier today, Bandai Namco announced that the Switch version of Dark Souls Remastered has been delayed until this summer. However, Dark Souls Remastered is still on track for every other platform and is scheduled to release on Friday, May 25.
Unfortunately, the Solaire of Astora amiibo was scheduled to release on the same day as Dark Souls Remastered on Nintendo Switch, which means the Solaire amiibo release has also been delayed to fit with the new summer release window.
“Due to the nature of causality, we must announce that the Nintendo Switch version of [Dark Souls Remastered] will be pushed back to summer of 2018, and with it, the release of the Solaire of Astora amiibo,” said the official Dark Souls Twitter account. “PC/PS4/X1 versions will maintain their May 25th release date.

Regarding network testing on Nintendo Switch, Bandai Namco also stated via tweet that, “We will test the server performance of the Switch version apart from the others, and at a time closer to the Switch release. We will announce the dates when they are available.”
No specific details were given as to why the Switch version of Dark Souls Remastered was delayed and not the other platforms. The Switch version of Dark Souls was recently on display at PAX East 2018, which just wrapped up a little over a week ago.
Dark Souls Remastered is still slated to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 25, 2018. We will be sure to update you here with the release date for Dark Souls on Switch as new details are announced.
