Obsidian has spilled the beans on their upcoming DLC for post-apocalyptic RPG Fallout: New Vegas, it goes by the name of Dead Money.
The add-on will be set in Sierra Madre, an extravagant casino that somehow remained untouched by the rather significant great war, Chris Avellone, the game’s senior designer has unveiled in the Bethesda Newsletter.
“The Sierra Madre faded from the history books, only occasionally being seen in posters across the wastes, until it took on mythic ghost story status… a supposed ‘City of Gold’ in the Mojave Wasteland where all the treasures of the Old World were rumored to be held,” Avellone revealed.
“It was kept alive as a late-night saloon story by prospectors who’d claimed to have found maps leading there… and were willing to part with the ‘map’ for a few caps. Or a drink. Or a warm place to sleep.”
Dead Money sees Father Elijah of the Brotherhood of Steel attempting to go find the legendary location and its treasures. The Courier begins to follow him after hearing a radio broadcast mentioning a grand opening for the mysterious casino.
Upon arrival our guy/gal meets a strange group of folks known as the Ghost People.
The DLC will make itself known in-game in the form of a radio-broadcast you’ll be able to pick up at any point, providing you haven’t yet completed the last quest (remember that autosave before the end-sequence).
