Huge Animal Crossing: New Horizons April Update Offers New Events, Redd’s Return, and More

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has a ton of free content on the way, including the epic return of the Black Market with Crazy Redd.

Yesterday, we shared a massive new leak that promised the return of Redd, new shops, events, and so much more and this morning Nintendo confirmed a bulk of what that datamine found. A huge (free) Animal Crossings: New Horizons April update is on the horizon and brings back our favorite Black Market connoisseur in addition to new events, merchants, and more.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons April Update

The first of the updates arrive on April 23 in a series of content drops to round out the month of April. Now that Bunny Day and the Cherry Blossoms events are a wrap, it’s time to look at what’s next on the horizon to make sure Spring ends on the highest of high notes.

As the previous leak suggested, new art shops are on the way to help art collectors realise their fullest potential. Jolly Redd will be taking up his mantel once more in the shady Black Market selling beautiful artwork – just beware: it’s all fake. Come on, it’s the Black Market, what did you expect.

For any real artwork acquired, it can be hung in the newly coming museum gallery to add some class to the educational building filled with wonder and island conquests.

In addition to getting that inner Andy Warhol on, a few events were detailed as well with the Nature Day event, Earth Day, that begins on the 23rd and will last until May 4th that will provide special Nook Miles challenges for players to take on in the name of nature. Plant trees, water flowers, and get some special rewards for taking care of the planet.

The May Day Tour event will kick off on May 1st and will run until the 7th and promises a one-time May Day Ticket to present to the island airport to go to a new place with a “special visitor” that awaits. Once the exploration is done for this one-time vacation, it’s time to roll into the International Museum Day event that runs from May 18th to the 31st. This event will allow players to take on the Stamp Rally to allow collectors to catch ’em all (wrong game) while taking in the fish, insects, and fossil sights.

The Wedding Season event runs for the entire month of June and centers around … you guessed it: weddings! Players can mosey on over to Harvey’s Island to meet Reese and Cyrus, a married couple that needs help taking adorable anniversary photos in a themed studio that will make those memories all the sweeter. By doing so, players will also earn unique, limited-time wedding-themed items for their own island.
