Between varying patch versions and an unpredictable certification process, the patches for Kingdom Come: Deliverance have been nothing short of confusing since the game’s launch last week. To help clear the air, the developers at Warhorse Studios have released a set of patch notes that outline the patching process behind their medieval RPG. The new patch notes also give insight into what players can expect in the next hotfix as well as Patch 1.3.
“There clearly seems to be some confusion about various patch versions, for which we are very sorry, so let us explain it a little bit,” said Warhorse in the latest patch notes. “When we finish any patch we can’t just upload it and send it to you immediately. There is a certification phase in which platform holders check whether the patch is stable. This process takes various amounts of time on different platforms. This is the reason why the patches are released at different times.”
According to the latest Kingdom Come: Deliverance patch notes, the next hotfix has been submitted for certification and will be on its way soon for players on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Hotfix 1.2.5 aims to address problems regarding the Hans Capon quests and will apply a fix for the R2 button being unresponsive during combat.
As for Patch 1.3, Warhorse claims that, “It’s mainly focused on bug-fixing as we are studiously going through every player report, watching every stream we can and fixing all the bugs as fast as possible.” Players can look forward to lockpicking and pickpocketing improvements, along with a new way to save the game. While not guaranteed for Patch 1.3, these are some of the changes the developers have planned for the future:
- Save and Exit functionality
- Lockpicking minigame controls improvement on controllers
- Pickpocket minigame improvement
- Alchemy recipe for respec potion
- Many quest-related bug fixes
