Another next-gen debut title has a release date. Previously slated for a Holiday 2020 window, Bloober Team has revealed that The Medium, a psychological horror game that takes place across two different planes, is set to launch on December 10, 2020. Along with the release date, Bloober Team released a new trailer showing off new art and material for the game. Check it out here:
As a reminder, Bloober Team is the developer behind popular horror and thriller games such as Observer, Layers of Fear, and The Blair Witch. The Medium is about crossing over between dual worlds, and the art style is inspired by Polish artist Zdzisław Beksiński.

The Medium was back in headlines shortly after its initial announcement during a Xbox Showcase. That’s because in addition to Bloober Team’s regular composer Arkadiusz Reikowski, Silent Hill legend Akira Yamaoka was also revealed to be working on the score.
The Medium will be launching as a Xbox Series X and S console exclusive, and it will also be available on the PC via the Steam, Epic Games Store, and The Microsoft Store platforms. We haven’t seen details yet on a potential PlayStation release, but it’s always hard to tell with releases like this if they’re timed exclusives or not unless it’s specifically announced as such.

For now, if you’re rocking a Xbox Series X or S this generation, you’ll have The Medium as an option only available on that console. Considering Bloober Team’s solid track record with games like Observer (which is also getting a next-gen facelift), there’s no doubt The Medium will be worth checking out.
