During this past week at Comic-Con 2012, Warner Bros. was happy to announce that a second season of the live-action series Mortal Kombat: Legacy is in the works. The online series, directed by Kevin Tancharoen and featuring the likes of Jeri Ryan and Michael Jai White, will focus more on the actual fighting tournament this time around, though new characters will be introduced into the mix, including Ermac and Stryker.
Further production details weren’t revealed yet, but Tancharoen (who’s also working on a big-screen Mortal Kombat effort coming soon) is expected to return along with various actors from the first season of the series. It should be rolling around sometime in 2013.
Meanwhile, while no new footage from the upcoming series is yet available, we do have this brief little snippet showing the announcement of the series, but in a rather humorous tone. Don’t expect the series to be this soft when it makes its return.
