Fallout: New Vegas’ Obsidian Entertainment gave us a brand new RPG earlier this year called The Outer Worlds and instantly it was a huge hit with fans of this particular genre. The comparisons to Fallout, BioShock, and Borderlands were immediate – but let’s be real, it really is just Fallout: New Vegas in space. And you know what? That’s awesome! Or, to me, it’s New Mass Vegas Effect, which is even better. Though the game itself has tons of replayability options due to the choices made in-game, it looks like there will be another reason to dive back in because the team just confirmed new DLC is on the way.
During The Game Awards earlier this week, Obsidian was awarded the Best Narrative and Best Performance awards for their latest adventure. In a thank you letter on the official Obsidian message boards, the team also gave a small teaser for what’s to come, though details are still hidden at this time.
The team mentioned in their letter to fans, “The reception to The Outer Worlds has been unbelievable to see, and even just being nominated means a lot. However, the journey isn’t over yet as we are excited to announce that we will be expanding the story through DLC next year! Details will be made available at a later date.”
While we wish we had details now because we’re impatient, it is exciting to know that even more gaming goodness is on the way for this space adventure that offered a lot to players willing to go the extra mile and complete all of the side quests. From LCD drug trips to 50s-style cannibals, The Outer Worlds was definitely a trip and we’re excited to see more!
