Ghostrunner is an action-packed romp through sick slides and a neon-filled environment. I’ve been immensely excited to play through the sequel and I’m planning to buy it on day 1. However, it looks like we won’t need to wait that long. At today’s State of Play, Ghostrunner 2 devs One More Level Games released a new trailer and announced a playable demo. The best part, it’s playable right now!
While I haven’t played through the demo just yet, if it’s like the first game’s pre-launch demo, it’ll offer around 30 minutes of the game, including some combat and traversal, along with early story details. It’ll only be a fraction of what we can expect, but having even a crumb could be a nice lead-up to the full meal next month. I know I’m craving it at least.
Ghostrunner 2 takes place one year after the events of the first game where the Keymaster, a tyrant who brought great pain and suffering to the people of Dharma Tower, was taken down by Jack. While her corruption on the tower has been felled, an AI cult seeks to cause disarray from outside the tower and within. Like the entry before it, Jack’s the only hope for anyone remotely sane left.
If you like the demo, Ghostrunner 2 releases on October 26 for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC through Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. Right now, you can pre-order one of the three editions ranging between $40-70. While changes between each are mostly cosmetic, those who pre-order the $70 Brutal Edition get 48-hour early access to the game alongside a Season Pass.
While we’re on the topic of announcements from today’s State of Play, check out the news of the Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways DLC coming sooner than you’d expect.
