Resident Evil 3 Remake Cover Art Leaked by PlayStation

A Resident Evil 3 remake announcement seems imminent with PlayStation spilling the beans early.

Capcom has mentioned several times in the past that they would be interested in another remake following Resident Evil 2’s success and this Resident Evil 3 remakecover art leak from PlayStation looks like that official reveal could be imminent.

With the Game Awards not far away, it’s entirely plausible that the official reveal will happen then assuming Capcom doesn’t rush their announcement due to such a sizeable leak.

The studio previously sat down with the team over at Game Informer to hypothesize what their next move could possibly be after talking about whether or not they were interested in revisiting Resident Evil 3. “We’ve got a lot of fans who ask for their favorite games, but we’re not going to commit to anything right now,” Director Kazunori Kadoi recently told Game Informer. “We’d like to keep our possibilities open for the future and see what makes the most sense when we come to it. We don’t want to feed just nostalgia. We want to bring [out] how people felt about the original games and if we can, reimagine it in a way so that it bridges the generation gap between people who played it 20 years ago and newcomers.”

“Certainly enough time has passed that it wouldn’t be laughable to remake the remake. I personally think that would be an interesting thing to do.”

With the Resident Evil 2 remake being a massive hit for Capcom, we can’t imagine that they would ignore such a profitable and engaging opportunity. Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was a beloved entry into the franchise and seeing all of the work Capcom has done to bring Resident Evil 2 into this generation, we’re excited to see what’s next down this path of nostalgia and for an official reveal for the Resident Evil 3 remake!
