Rocksteady Confirms Suicide Squad Game, Full Reveal Drops Later This Month

We've got our first look at the new Suicide Squad game from Rocksteady, and it's certainly a choice.

After years of teasers and leaks, Rocksteady has finally confirmed their upcoming Suicide Squad game, taking on the DC realm once more. While the confirmation came by way of a simple image, a full reveal is slated for later this month, but at least now we have that long-awaited confirmation that a Suicide Squad game is actually happening.

Rocksteady took to Twitter to share the news and while some were excited, others were a bit confused as to the nature of the reveal. We’ve got some theories as to why they opted into this way, versus the usual cinematic – or even GIF – teaser.

My personal source tells that this game is going to be in true looter shooter style, even likening it to that of The Division 2. He told me that there is a bit of a mixed reception based on what the game truly has to offer, but I have yet to see it for myself at this time. Whether his report is accurate or not remains to be seen, but that format would fall in-line with previous revenue goals publicly prioritized by the studio, though we know DC is in good hands.

Rocksteady knows how to craft an excellent story and they know these characters from the inside out. We’re looking forward to seeing more about the upcoming Suicide Squad game when the full reveal comes on August 22nd.

Now that we’ve got the Suicide Squad confirmation, now we just need to learn about the Batman game that WB has been teasing on and off throughout the years. As we previously reported, the Suicide Squad game would have a fairly understated reveal. This teaser not included, the look later this month is also just a teaser, so we recommend tempering those expectations now unless something has widely changed in just under two months.
