Lara Croft’s Tomb Raider series has been about the extraordinary journey of one woman, battling the odds as she seeks out amazing treasures. But according to a recent listing over at the UK retailer GAME’s website, she may soon have some company for her latest adventure.
In the listing, multiplayer is listed as a key feature for the forthcoming Tomb Raider reboot, with a description that states you can “play a variety of multiplayer modes as Lara’s Shipmates or Yamatai’s Scavengers.” The listing has since been removed, but the details are as clear as day – you could very well have a versus battle on your hands.
Square Enix had previously hinted that they were going to make a “special secret announcement” that talked about how it would “change the way you play Tomb Raider forever,” but never divulged what it could be. They didn’t confirm multiplayer as of yet, but who knows, it could very well be what the company has in store. We’ll find out soon.
Tomb Raider hits stores March 5, 2013 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
