Shenmue 3 has been on everyone’s radar for a while now, and the game continues to grow and progress as each and every day passes. While the game did receive a delay recently, moving it’s release back into 2019, fans have more to look forward to, as the crowdfunding campaign has now surpassed $7 million, allowing the developers to add in even more special features.
The latest feature to be reached on the game’s stretch goal is a new battle system, which the developers believe will allow for an expanded system that users of all different calibers will be able to enjoy. In the latest backer update posted on the Kickstarter page, the developers stated:
“This control system lets you automatically unleash the perfect technique in response to the opponent’s positioning and distance. R&D for this system is based on Yu Suzuki’s concept for players who are not used to fighting games or for those who want a full immersion battle experience. This battle system is highly compatible with and will be an extension to the current battle system.”
It will definitely be interesting to see the new battle system in play once the game releases, and we’re sure that Shenmue fans everywhere are just as excited about it as the developers seem to be. On top of the new battle system’s stretchgoal being reached, players also have the new Toy Capsule Box Set, which you can add on to your backing. You can learn more about that on the official Kickstarter page, where you can also read through the entirety of the latest backer update.
Shenmue 3 is shaping up to be something special for Shenmue fans and the developers seem to be putting their all into making it the sequel that the series deserves. For now, another stretchgoal has been reached. Only time will tell how long it takes to reach the next stretchgoal and unlock more goodies.
