It’s no secret that Stellar Blade has no shortage of content that could easily be tagged as inappropriate, and the Skin Suit for Eve is no exception. However, it now appears that there might be a more justified reason for players to dress the main character in a more modest fashion: difficulty.
Whether a player wants to use the Skin Suit in Stellar Blade or not is their choice. However, there’s an actual disadvantage in doing so. In an interview with Famitsu, Director Hyung-Tae Kim stated, “The Skin Suit has no defensive function, and since you lose your shield, you will take a lot of damage and may die quickly. The gameplay difficulty will increase dramatically, so I recommend that you wear clothes as much as possible.”
The deflective shields usually found on suits aren’t present on the Skin Suit in Stellar Blade. As a result, Eve will be lot more prone to damage if she’s wearing it. The reason behind the absence of the deflective shield has also been explained.
The Skin Suit is just an extra layer of skin-like material that hugs Eve’s body tightly. Hence, it provides lower protection for her as she combats the different enemies. While players can still enable this suit, doing so will come at a cost. Due to this disadvantage, they could find certain enemies a lot harder to tackle. Hence, it might actually make a lot of sense for players to opt for something with more protection.
Kim also stated that Stellar Blade could end up securing a sequel in the future as well. It will depend entirely on the success of the first release. The game launches globally on April 26, and is a PS5 exclusive. Currently, players can try out the free demo, and pre-orders are live on the PlayStation Store.
