The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Direct is going on now and with it brings the surprise release of Dragon Quest’s Hero for the fighting game. We knew we were going to get a release date soon but what we didn’t know is that Hero would be joining so soon – today, in fact!
That’s right, Hero is officially joining the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster today as the latest character DLC pack. Here’s a breakdown of today’s reveal:
Dragon Quest Invades Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
First, we have Hero from Dragon Quest XI S, coming soon. Dubbed Darkspawn (major Dragon Age flashback), he wields the gigantic Sword of Light. Next up we have the hero from Dragon Quest III, the 16-ear old Edrick with his own sword. Next up we have Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen’s hero, the 17-year-old ancestor of the bride from Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride.
Last, but not least, is Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King’s addition: an 18-year-old completely unaffected by the curse. He also has his adorable pocket companion: Muncie.
As for what they call these heroes in Japan to help distinguish them from Hero:
- Eleven
- Arusu
- Solo
- Eight
The Hero DLC Challenger Pack is available for $5.99 or you can get him in the Season Pass, which includes Banjo-Kazooie and Joker, for $24.99.
