Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Brushes the Dust Off a Classic Trilogy

Return to the classics.

The original Tomb Raider trilogy games are getting fully remastered for the Nintendo Switch, marking a return to the 1996 debut of the iconic character Lara Croft. The three games will be sold as a single Tomb Raider I-III Remastered collection.

From the September 14 Nintendo Direct, “As the fearless archeologist, Lara Croft, you’ll travel the world and face off against deadly foes and even deadlier legends. Climb, backflip, and swan dive through perilous quests spanning different countries and mythologies.”

The trilogy includes all of the expansions and secret levels for each game, allowing players to seamlessly switch between the original and the new, remastered graphics. Check out the following images below for a graphical comparison.

The original Tomb Raider, released on October 25, 1996, was widely praised for its revolutionary graphics, intuitive controls, and immersive environments, making it one of the most popular games for the original Sony PlayStation console. The two following sequels, Tomb Raider II and Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft, were released shortly after in the subsequent years, garnering equal praise and attention.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered releases for Nintendo Switch on February 14, 2024, and is available for pre-ordering today. You can check out the trailer for the game below.
