After being initially announced a couple of weeks ago during the Electronic Entertainment Expo, Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb officially unveiled the dates and prices for the five games that will be involved with the Summer of Arcade 2012, and it all kicks off on July 18. Let’s break down the schedule.
July 18- Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD, 1200 Microsoft points – the skateboarding king returns in a reboot of his classic series (this one’s coming to PSN at a later time)
June 25- Wreckateer, 800 Microsoft points – a fun target-shooting game where you shoot catapult balls at far-away castle targets, using motion control for aim manipulation
August 1- Deadlight, 1200 Microsoft points – a spooky action/adventure where you’ll need light just to stay alive
August 8- Hybrid, 1200 Microsoft points – 5th Cell’s engaging multiplayer action game, where you can use gravity to your advantage
August 15- Dust: An Elysian Tail, 1200 Microsoft points – a beautiful side-scrolling platformer with classic gameplay to spare
You can buy three or more of these games to snag a nice little bonus for yourself as well – an additional 400 Microsoft points. Not bad for a program that’s already giving you several great games to play.
