Resident Evil Village The Winters’ Expansion has officially launched, bringing new content to the latest entry in the main series of Capcom’s survival horror blockbuster. For returning players, new Resident Evil Village players, or those who haven’t even bought the game yet, this guide will present everything you need to know about The Winters’ Expansion before you buy Capcom’s newest DLC.
Which Version of Resident Evil Village The Winters’ Expansion Should You Buy?
In order to experience the Winters’ Expansion, you first need to know which version of Resident Evil Village to buy. If you have already bought Resident Evil Village, then you will simply want to buy the Resident Evil Village Winters’ Expansion, which is available for $19.99. However, if you have never played Resident Evil Village, then you will want to buy the “Gold Edition” of the game. The reason for this is that the Gold Edition is $49.99, while the base game of Resident Evil Village is $39.99, meaning that you can obtain the Winters’ Expansion for half the price.

Play the Story of Resident Evil Village First
For new players, while it might be tempting to jump right into some of the exciting DLC of The Winters’ Expansion, it’s pretty obvious that you should play through the story mode of Resident Evil Village first, as it will teach you the game’s mechanics and introduce the characters found in the other DLC modes. Also, thanks to the Winters’ Expansion, you can now experience the campaign of Resident Evil Village from either the first or third-person perspective, which can be adjusted at a whim. Whether you loved the claustrophobic, FPS feel of Resident Evil VII: Biohazard, or the third-person zombie fighting action of Resident Evil 2, you will find a preference that matches your Resident Evil gaming needs.
