It seems that players were emerging out of the woodwork to play the original version of Fortnite once more, and the stats are there to back it up. But, exactly how many players were in the game during its peak times, and is it coming back?
Fortnite OG Stats – Players, Peak Times & More
According to the Fortnite stat tracking webpage Fortnite.GG, it seems that Fortnite OG peaked on November 3, 2023, with a total of 6,172,463 players logging in to check out what this nostalgic season had to offer. However, more impressively, it averaged anywhere from 4 to 5 million concurrent players at almost any given time. While this record may have been crushed during The Big Bang Event that recently happened, the drop off of players compared to Fortnite OG has been far more apparent.
After the game hit peak numbers on December 2, 2023, with 11,616,374 players tuning in to see what was coming next, the player counts have dropped into the high 2 million, low 3 million point. That’s still a large number of players, but still down compared to the OG Fortnite maps return.
Is Fortnite OG Coming Back in the Future?
If you lost the love of the game after the OG map was retired once again, you’re in luck. The official Fortnite X Page has confirmed that the OG Season will be returning in some way, shape, or form. Will it be a unique game mode, or will it be an original season once again? Only time will tell, and it seems like we need to wait until 2024 for more details.
