How to Beat Gleeoks
Each Gleeok in TotK does their own elemental damage, but the battle for each one is largely the same. They’ll have two phases: they’ll first stay close to the ground, then fly up into the air and attack from above. Gleeok battles are mostly bow and arrow fights, as it’ll be difficult to get close to the Gleeok to use anything else. So the best weapons to use against them are Lynel Bows and arrows fused with materials like Gibdo bones and Keese eyeballs.
To beat the Gleeok:
- Remain at a distance (preferably behind some kind of cover) and shoot the Gleeok’s eyes, using Keese eyeball arrows.
- Once it flies high into the air (at around 1/3-1/2 health left), try to do the same, using the updrafts or a rocket shield.
- Rain down arrows from above, targeting the Gleeok’s eyes.
- Once each eye has been hit while it’s in the air, it’ll come crashing down to the ground—this is your chance to unload with your strongest weapons.
- Rinse and repeat.
It’ll be a long battle, and you’ll want to make sure you’re properly stocked up on materials to keep the battle going—you’ll probably need at least 60 arrows to fully take down the Gleeok, but the more the better. We also recommend using elemental resistance elixirs and meals to help mitigate the damage.
Best Way to Get Lynel Bows in ToTK
As the name suggests, Lynel Bows come from Lionels. You can find Lynels at the following locations: West Hyrule Plains, Lake Illumeni, Upland Lindor, Lanayru Heights, Rabia Plain, Kincean Island, Hebra West Summit, Tabantha Hills, Stairy Plateau, Risoka Snowfield, North Akala Valley, Kaepora Pass, Nautelle Wetlands, Harfin Valley, and Kamah Plateau.
There is a hierarchy of Lynels based on their strength. In order, here is every type of Lynel bow from weakest to strongest:
- Red-maned Lynel
- Blue-maned Lynel
- White-maned Lynel
- Silver-maned Lynel
Farm these Lynels to stock up on more Lynel bows. You can also find Lynel bows in chests around Hyrule.
