Despite his gargantuan and unfair size, Althaitham has been a very anticipated unit for a long time for a lot of Genshin Impact players. Not as long as Yaoyao or Baizhu, but still a long time. The memes and jokes about him being a Dendro Kequing may be accurate, but it isn’t going to stop me from trying to nab him anyway. He’s a sassy, sarcastic, dry-humored dastard of a man who makes friends with no one and given my love of Xiao, it’s only natural for me to dote on him. So, here are all materials required for ascending Alhaitham in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact – The Unknown Snakey Boss
HoYoverse really likes its snakes. Yes, there are only two, but if I had a nickel for every time HoYoverse dropped an unknown Snake Boss right when a new character was released, I’d have two nickels. Not a lot, but it’s strange that it happened twice. Similar to previous new characters, HoYoverse is developing a nasty habit of only releasing the materials you need to build characters once they are available on their Gacha Banners. This makes it incredibly hard to pre-farm, but hopefully, with this guide, you can tick a couple of things off your to-do list.
Along with Alhaitham and Yaoyao, Genshin Impact is releasing a new area and boss for 3.4, the Setekh Wenut. More closely resembling a worm as it is described to be a blind predator, it actually looks to be a new boss that will drop Anemo gemstones. There aren’t many Bosses that do so in Genshin, so this will be invaluable. What isn’t so great is that it may not drop Dendro gems, which Alhaitham is going to need. Even so, he’s going to need the Boss drops from the Wenut called the Pseudo-Stamens. Maybe because the drop is called the Stamen, it will drop Dendro… A problem to worry about upon 3.4’s release. (Update: It does not. Good luck farming more of those Nagadus Emerald Gems.)
Ascension Materials Exclusive to Sumeru That Isn’t Even Open Yet
Along with his boss material, Alhaitham needs the Sand Grease Pupa in order for him to be ascended fully. What was that? You don’t recognize what that is? Neither do we. Once again, similar to the Dungbettles and the Henna fruit that is seen throughout the desert, we will not be able to farm for Alhaithams needed drop until the 3.4 update is released and complete. Something that is familiar though is the Red Satin clothes that are dropped from defeated Eremites. As they are continuing to release more types of Eremite Mercenaries, this will be an easy resource to continue gathering. A lot of Sumeru characters have needed it up to now, but if you feel that there is a chance that you could use more, then look no further than your Adventurers Journal. You guessed it, heading into the book will allow you to look at all of the enemies that you have encountered in your journey thus far. The Eremites being one of them, you can click on their profile and hit Navigate. Doing so will prompt an Icon to appear on your map and indicate where the largest groups of Eremites are going to be in their usual areas. This can make it easy for grinding and since there is nothing that you can focus on in the meantime, you can at least gather as many of these clothes as you’ll need which will save you a lot of hassle later down the line. Then you only have to weep with the rest of us about staying up late trying to get Alhaitham’s boss material.

Talent Requirements and Materials
Alhaitham’s Level-Up Talent Books are going to be the Ingenuity line, which can be farmed every Tuesday and Friday. On Sundays, all of the Talent and Weapon materials can be accessed, so it is also included in the days when you can go to the domain to gather those last few remaining talent books you need. The Domain you’re going to travel to is the Steeple of Ignorance which is just west of the Chatrakam Cave.
The other drop that Alhaitham is going to need is more of the Red Satin scares that drop from Eremites. Same rules apply to achieving a massive amount of those, you can never go wrong with your Adventurers Journal and there are plenty of these warriors throughout Sumeru, especially out in the desert. Once you are past Level Six of any of Alhaitham’s Talent Branches, you’ll be required to add World Boss Drops to the requirement list. Alhaitham is going to need is the Mirror of Mushin, a drop that can be obtained from the Shouki no Kami, the Prodigal. This World Boss is only available once the storyline in Sumeru is complete, and seeing as how it is a bit new, you can always go to your crafting table and use Dream Solvent on existing materials from the same boss to change the item into what you need for Alhaitham.
