All hail the Energy Recharge Queen, as one of the Archons in Genshin Impact, it should already be a given that any power bequeathed to the Raiden Shogun is sure to be insanely outlandish and overpowered. Sure enough, when she dropped, she had an artifact set made just for her to come out as well to only further obliterate your enemies into ashes. Just like some unfortunate Harbingers. You’ve seen what she can do at Level One through several TikToks when she first released – now here’s all the materials required to ascend Raiden Shogun in Genshin Impact.

The Illustrious and Frustrating Thunderbird
One of the most infuriating bosses in the game by far, but one that is very much needed. Not only for Raiden but for Sara as well. Kujou Sara is an excellent support to just about any team and especially Raiden’s, but one guide at a time. The Thunder Manifestation is a tricky boss in that because it’s always flying around the arena, it’s hard to pinpoint and deal damage. You’ll also almost certainly need a ranger fighter for your team composition since it constantly likes to zip around, leaving you trailing in the dust and standing just above your character’s height limit. But you can get both the gems and the Boss drops here, saving you a little more time by only needing to tackle this boss for its materials.
Raiden is probably the most peculiar of characters because she is thus far the only one who needs the Amakumo Fruit. This fruit can be found just about anywhere along Seirei Island. They come in clusters of two and respawn daily as part of the vegetation in that area. While you’re there, it would be best to tackle a few specters, made all the easier with Raiden in your team since she’ll add an additional zap to any attack you manage to get on them. While he’s on the roster, it isn’t a bad idea to drop Gorou in your team as well. Having him there will showcase items that are exclusive to the Inazuma region on your minimap, allowing you to see where the next available Amakumo Fruit is while you are roaming around Seirei.
The last of the resources that the Raiden Shogun is going to need is Handguards. Lots of them. Triggering almost an entire nation of Nobushi, we must once again hunt the ronin of Inazuma for their Handguards to ascend not just the Levels of the Shogun herself, but the Talents that we’ll go into later on. The Nobushi are only found in Inazuma and cannot be found in any other place of Inazuma such as Enkanomiya. So it’s Inazuma we have to hunt, whether it’s by tracking them from the Adventurer’s Journal or by seeking them out in select Leylines. At least by doing the leylines, you can add up your inventory of Hero’s Wits as well, not that you’ll be using them until you can get those dang Handguards. Out in the open world isn’t the only place you can find the Handguards, though it is incredibly tedious to resort to the Paimon’s Bargains Shop when you have better options of getting the extra free Wishes for both banners, as well as gathering Adventurer’s Journals and Fragments for Weapon Building. But desperate times call for desperate measures, and when the Nobushi aren’t guaranteed to drop Handguards, a gamer gets a little peeved.

Talent Requirements and Materials
Raiden’s Talents are pretty straightforward, all she needs are the Talent Type Light, which can be found at the Violet Garden. Obviously, because it’s the only domain in Inazuma that hands out talent materials. Below is the chart, you’ll see the exact number of how many you’ll need for each branch of her Normal Attack, Skill, and Burst. For Raiden, it’s most important to level up her Burst and then her Skill, since that is going to be her primary source of attack and damage. If you’ve been waiting for her for a long time then, by all means, crown her Normal Attack. For players who like to save a little bit on resources, you can just get her Normal Attack Branch to Level Six and she’ll be perfectly fine.
Unfortunately, alongside her talent materials, you will once again need Handguards. It’s going to be a very long winter at this rate… But never fear, the daily grind of leylines and Nobushi aboveground in Inazuma will see you there. You can also switch your commissions to Inazuma to start tackling quests there in the hopes that you will run into Nobushi. You can also do Requests within the Kamisato Estate that will have you either deal with troubling Nobushi or deliver carrots to some character. Either way, you’ll be able to grab a few Handguards there as well. Don’t be afraid to nudge your friends and ask them to help you grind. The more worlds you are in, the more you can farm.

This run is sure to be a fun one, but also an extremely painful one for those who have been eagerly awaiting her arrival and find, they are soon to be zero on Handguards. Best of luck with your pulls!
