All New Features in Triangle Strategy New Game Plus

You never know with a new RPG whether or not the game includes a New Game Plus or similar option after it’s over. Luckily, Triangle Strategy is one of those games. But not only does Square Enix’s latest tactics adventure let you start over from clear data, there are whole new features that are introduced. Wild, right? Here’s what you need to know.

First of all, all your stuff carries over. That means all the items, notes, so on and so forth. Recruited units carry over too! Meaning you can fill out the roster if you’re so inclined. Enemies also get stronger, and a new set of hard Mock Battles becomes available. You can also see a summary of the previous playthrough, to help you keep track of the paths you’ve already taken. But the biggest change is conviction.

In New Game Plus mode, Triangle Strategy totally reveals the whole Conviction system. After a few chapters a Scout will join the Encampment, who shows you what your current values are. You’ll also see what the requirements are for units you haven’t teamed up with yet. Finally, you get all the information you need to make choices, including values for dialogue choices and the individual actions that impact Conviction.

Triangle Strategy has multiple endings, and characters that will only join you if you meet their ideological requirements. While the intent is clearly to make your way through the first time more organically, Square Enix’s team still wants players to get Everything if they’re willing to put the time in.
