Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life provides players with the opportunity to dive deep into hybridizing crops. Not only can you mix two crops together to create a hybrid, but you can also create two rare hybrids together to make something that has never been seen before in Forgotten Valley.
How to Mix Third Generation Crops in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life
Before you can begin mixing rare hybrid crops (also referred to as third generation crops), you need to make sure that you have created the hybrid crops to do so. This becomes available once you begin Chapter 2 of the game.
There’s plenty of crops to discover, and below you will find a complete list of all rare hybrid crops in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life. But if you are unfamiliar with the system, the below will provide you with the information that you need to become a crop connoisseur. Otherwise, skip straight to the rare hybrid crop table!
How to Unlock Hybrid Crops
Once you have finished year one in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life and enter your second year. Takakura will soon tell you that someone slipped some seeds into his pocket when he was in the city. When he came home and planted them, Vinnie was the result. This three-headed, talkative plant will fuse different crops together to make hybrid varieties. He can also fuse flowers with a number of crops too! Vinnie will accept the crop in either seed or produce form, so it is really up to you which route you would like to take.
Vinnie is quite temperamental though, and he will not produce hybrid crops for you as soon as you meet him. You will need to talk to him consistently until he is friendly towards you and only then will he offer this service to you. This doesn’t take too long as you can talk to him repeatedly. You can also check how much he likes you on the same screen as the other Forgotten Valley residents.
The third-generation of hybrid crops will need you to have unlocked the third field as they require highly fertile soil.
