Heads up, Trailblazers, because we already have our first Character Banners expected to run in Hoyoverse’s Honkai: Star Rail 1.0 release! Although the game will not release until April 26, it is never too early to begin planning which character’s you are going to be saving for.

Character Event Warps for Honkai: Star Rail 1.0
In Honkai: Star Rail, we will be seeing the return of the Gacha, where Trailblazers can pull for characters that they want to see in their team. Here, they will be called Event Warps and can produce one of two things, Characters, and Light Cones. Though the game is not released yet, in Hoyoverse’s first-ever stream for their new upcoming game, they revealed that the two characters that we can expect to see run in 1.0.
Over the duration, we will have two phases and therefore two characters running in 1.0. The character for the first phase of 1.0 will be Seele, the revolutionary who lives in Belabog’s underground. Her banner is named Butterfly on Swordtip and will be released alongside her Light Cone Event Warp, Brilliant Fixation where ‘In the Night’ will be available. In the second phase called Swirl of Heavenly Spear, Jing Yuan will be up for the Character Event Warp next to his Light Cone called ‘Before Dawn’ during the Brilliant Fixation Light Cone Event Warp. Jing Yuan is the leading representative of his people called the Xianzhou.
Since these banners will be limited, it is time to start figuring out what the difference is between the two characters to help you decide which one you would like to see at your party. Even more helpful to know if you are going to get both!
Who is Seele (The Hunt)?
From what we learn of Seele in the Special Program for Honkai: Star Rail, we know she is the revolutionary lead for those who live in the underground of Belabog. While prosperity exists on the upside of the snowy town, underneath its catacombs is a vastly different story. The underground is poverty-stricken and those who are employed work in the mines, with no way to reach the surface. The way up has been tampered with and hasn’t been repaired in years, but it seems our Trailblazer will find their way there to meet with Seele.
Gameplay-wise, Seele follows the Path of the Hunt, which means that she excels in dealing single-target damage by blitz attacking the enemy with increased chances of landing critical damage. True to the RPG turn-based style, she can also take additional moves if her Ultimate is timed right, a Talent that is allotted specifically to Seele as a character. Other Hunt characters will likely have other additional talents that contribute to their game style.
Who is Jing Yuan (The Erudition)?
Part of the Xianzhou clan, a people said to be gifted with long lives due to the deity Aeon Abundance, Jing Yuan is the representative of this particular world Trailblazers will come across. Having gotten an alert that the area may have been attacked by similar enemies, the Astral Train departs to check on the situation, only to find it contained thanks to the tactics of this rather sleepy-looking general.
Contrary to Seele, Jing Yuan is capable of attacking multiple enemies with his Skill and Ultimate. With the assistance of a Lightning Lord, this “dozing general” can deal an impressive amount of damage with a sick-looking animation to tag along with it.
Which character will you be saving for? Or maybe like me, you will be gunning for both!
