“Holy remaster, Batman!” The most critically acclaimed superhero games ever made are finally coming to the Nintendo Switch, as Rocksteady’s legendary Batman: Arkham Trilogy is set to arrive on the console very soon. Here is everything we know about the Arkham Trilogy including its release date and which games featuring the Caped Crusader will be included in the collection.
When is Batman: Arkham Trilogy Coming to Nintendo Switch?
After initially being slated for a release window of Fall 2023, the Batman Arkham trilogy will officially arrive on December 1, 2023.
What Games are Included in the Batman Arkham Trilogy?
The Dark Knight games featured in the upcoming trilogy are Batman: Arkham Asylum (2009), Batman: Arkham City (2011), and Batman: Arkham Knight (2015), all of which were developed by Rocksteady Studios. While Arkham City had a previous release on the Wii U, this is the first time that Arkham Asylum and Arkham Knight will be available on Nintendo consoles, an exciting development for brand-loyal gamers, who may have missed out previously.
Why Isn’t Batman: Arkham Origins Part of the Collection?
Noticeably, a few Arkham experiences are not joining Asylum, City, and Knight on the Switch, including, most notably, Batman: Arkham Origins. The reason for this is likely due to the fact that the 2013 Arkham prequel was developed by WB Games Montreal, while the rest of the collection seems to be focused on Rocksteady’s mainline releases. However, Rocksteady’s 2016 VR spinoff, Batman: Arkham VR is also not included in the collection, which is not surprising, given the fact that it is virtual reality exclusive.
In summation, Batman: Arkham Trilogy is arriving on December 1, 2023 for Nintendo Switch, and will include Rocksteady’s acclaimed trifecta of Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight.
