There are many ball-carrying moves for players to choose from in Madden NFL 24. However, only a few work the majority of the time. In this write-up, I’m listing all of the best ball-carry moves in Madden.
Madden NFL 24 Best Ball Carry Moves
There are seven main skill moves you can execute when ball-carrying in Madden 24. All of the ball-carry moves are as follows:
- Stiff Arm,
- Trucking,
- Spin Move,
- Juke Move,
- Acceleration Burst,
- Hurdle, and
- Dead Leg.
Of these moves, some are easier to pull off than others, while some are more effective than others. Below’s selection is a mixture of what is easy to execute and what works most of the time.
Acceleration Burst Move
This move is perfect for a Running Back but is not limited to the position. If your player has high acceleration, you must use it to your advantage. For this to work, you must wait for the perfect moment to sprint and not keep the sprint button in all the time following the snap.
The play when I used this most is the HB Pitch or any HB running play. You can easily break away from your opponent if you time your sprint correctly. It especially works well when you are in tight spaces.
How do I use Sprint acceleration? I run into traffic but search for the gaps. As soon as I see the opening I want to exploit, I press Sprint and accelerate away from any challenge. Most importantly, I’m on my bike running free to the endzone.
Trucking
Trucking can be a make-or-break play. When you Truck a challenge, you can push for extra yards and win you a new set of downs. To perform a Truck, you must push the R3 analog stick in the direction you want to knock the opposing player.
Another great time to perform a Trucking move is when you are running towards an opponent, and he is the only player standing between you and six points. If you time the ball-carrying move perfectly, you’ll knock the player down and be on your bike. This is one of the moves you barely lose pace when using.
Spin Move
A spin move can be tremendously effective but also get you no extra yards. Because timing is everything with the spin move, there is a high chance you can get it very wrong. However, if you time it perfectly, you can take more than one player out of the game with one move.
It’s also perfect if you run out of space, going towards the sideline, and need to change direction and send the defending players in the wrong way. If you spin move close to the byline, you can open aches of space on the inside of the field with a well-timed spin in Madden NFL 24.
Sometimes a double spin (tapping the circle button twice to fake) works even better. When you make it appear as if you are turning one way but then turn back the other way, you could open a lot of running space to carry the ball far downfield.
Juke Move
The Juke move is hands down my favorite of all ball-carrying moves. Why? That’s because it’s a skill move that can fool multiple players with one movement and take all of them out of position. It’s also a skill that, when used in Madden, you don’t lose that much speed.
Another important factor about the juke is that you are always facing forward, and you never turn your back on the endzone or the player tackling you, like the spine move. Because of how easy it is to pull off this skill move, plus how effective it is, it goes down in my playbook as one of the smoothest skills in Madden 24.
Worth a mention are the Deadleg and Stiff Arm skill moves. These two moves can work well more often than not. However, the latter takes precise timing when a challenge is being made on your player.
