So, luckily if you participated in the seven-star Charizard Tera Raid earlier this year, you might already have a Pokemon set up for success. Let’s walk through some of the optimal choices. Remember that these builds are focused on the fire and fighting typing of Cinderace during the raid. There is potential for Cinderace to know a Poison or Steel-type move that could change the strategy, but we do not know the moveset until it is released.
Azumarill
Yes, our big chunky mouse friend is back. Azumarill is another top-tier choice for the Cinderace raid because the Belly Drum Play rough combo will still do massive damage. If you have an Azumarill EV trained and ready to go, don’t worry about doing anything else; you’re all set. Maybe add a Shell Bell held item to give yourself some more healing options; otherwise, you’re all set. If you don’t have an Azumarill with Belly Drum, here’s how to teach it.
Dachsbun
Dachsbun is a solid choice for the Cinderace raid because of its ability “Well Baked Body.” This will negate any Fire-type attacks Cinderace has and increases Dachsbun defense at the same time. On top of this, Dachsbun can also learn some powerful Psychic-type moves. Psychic and Fairy will be your best bet at dealing damage to Cinderace.

Ceruledge/Amarouge
Ceruledge is an interesting choice because it’s naturally immune to all fire and fighting-type moves, basically making Cinderace useless against it. Pair this with Psycho Cut, Bitter Blade, and Swords Dance, and you can start dealing some pretty hefty damage to Cinderace.
Amarouge, the Scarlet exclusive version, fairs a bit better in the damage department than Ceruledge. However, it does not have the fighting immunity that Ceruledge offers. The plus side is, Amarouge has psychic typing, giving all of its psychic attacks STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus.) So it’s a trade-off, either the safety of Ceruledge or the damage output of Amarouge. You can’t go wrong with either, but talk to your team before deciding and see which one can best complement your team’s roster.
Flutter Mane
Flutter Mane was another choice for the Charizard Tera Raid, and we suggest it here too. The Ghost typing will make it immune to fighting-type moves, and Flutter Mane’s incredibly high Special Attack threshold makes it a powerful attacker. Pair this with its fairy-type moves like Moonblast, and you’re setting yourself up for success. Pair this with a Modest nature on Flutter Mane to further increase its Special Attack potential, and you can pump damage into Cinderace. If your Flutter Mane does not have a Modest nature, you can change it using Nature Mints. Fake Tears will lower the target’s Special Defense making sure Moonblast does even more damage.
