With the much-hyped Season 2 for The Finals, we’ve gotten a slew of new features, from game modes to weapons. Here are the best weapons and gadgets in The Finals Season 2.
Best New Weapons in The Finals Season 2
Season 2 of The Finals has brought us three new weapons, with each class receiving one weapon. Those weapons are:
Weapon | Build | Description |
---|---|---|
93R | Light | Burst fire handgun. Fires in 3-round bursts and is ideal for close- to medium-range engagements. |
FAMAS | Medium | Burst fire-assault rifle. The rifle retains most of its damage even at longer ranges. |
KS-23 | Heavy | A stripped-down slug round shotgun. It requires precision to handle effectively, but holding down zoom and predicting your target’s next move helps. |
The weapon that shines amongst these three is the FAMAS, as it offers the best stability and consistent damage of the three, making it a laser even at distance. But don’t get caught trying to reload.
The 93R, which has great control and little recoil even when hipfiring, is stymied by its low damage. It takes two bursts to kill another Light, four bursts to kill a Medium, and an entire armory to kill a Heavy. However, if you choose to use the 93R but can’t always hit the head, aiming for the chest is ideal, as there’s a slight upward pull when you shoot beyond 10 meters. If you aim around the collarbone, the second and third shots will be headshots.
The FAMAS will feel familiar if you’ve used it in any similar FPS games. It’s your standard three-round burst assault rifle. Like the 93R, you’ll need three bursts to kill a Light, four bursts to kill a Medium, and six bursts to kill a Heavy. While that sounds very similar to the 93R, the Famas has very little recoil at short and medium distances, and you’ll really only feel the pull at longer distances. It’s also much more reliable at 20 meters compared to the 93R. This makes it easier to grab those headshots, which will put down a Light in two shots, a Medium in three, and a Heavy in four. But even those standard shots will put your enemies on the brink of death, while the 93R will give them just enough health to scurry away if they’re fast.
The KS-23 is a bit of an odd duck. It’s exceptionally powerful, but it’s more like a projectile weapon with bullet delay and you can’t aim down sight. Instead, you can only focus it, and then you must predict your enemy’s movement to make up for the shot’s delay. There are no headshot multipliers when using this gun, either. Like the previous guns, it will take two shots to kill a Light, three shots to kill a Medium, and five shots to kill a Heavy. You can use the KS-23 to demolish walls in just four shots. It’s hard to recommend the KS-23 in such a fast-paced game like The Finals. But if you catch your enemies in a room or up close where they can’t strafe, the KS-23 and the Heavy’s natural bullet-absorbing bulk will help you clench the matchup.
But guns aren’t the only new thing hitting The Finals. You can finally host custom matches, so start adding your friends. Or maybe take your Medium play up a notch?
