Blackout Tips

Blackout isn’t your normal battle royale experience and while it does hold a lot of similarities to other battle royale games, there’s a lot of differences here that players will need to get used to. To help you out, we’ve put together some important tips below, which you’ll want to digest before you dive in.

Look Out for Perks

Perks are a huge bonus in Blackout and you can find them scattered around the map quite a bit. Knowing the best perks is important as well and will help you sort through the madness when you’re out in the middle of the battlefield. When you find a perk out in the world—they look like little briefcases on the ground—you can pick it up and then open up your inventory. From here you can select the item and use it. Using it will activate the perk, which can give you a nice bit of bonus like being able to detect when someone is aiming at you, or even being able to see enemies through walls and things.

Look out for perks to increase your overall proficiency on the battlefield and be ready to make use of them when you feel it’s best.

Know Your Armor

Unlike PUBG or other battle royale games out there, Blackout only has one piece of armor for players to worry about. The thing to keep in mind here, though, is that of the three tiers of armor available, only the Level 3 Armor will protect your head from headshots. This means that Level 1 and Level 2 Armor will not keep you alive if players shoot you in the head. Because of this, you’ll want to hide behind cover and keep your head on a swivel to look out for snipers in the distance. Of course, Level 3 Armor isn’t easy to find, so make sure you look out for air drops or zombie reward boxes for a higher chance of getting your hands on this level of armor.

Use Vehicles Sparingly

Vehicles are a new addition to the Black Ops world with Blackout and players are no doubt going to be tempted to make use of them when they come across them. We actually suggest using these vehicles sparingly, though, as they make a lot of noise, drawing the attention of other players to your location. Instead of focusing on these items, try to utilize them effectively, only relying on them when you absolutely need them.

Obviously, there are a lot of things to keep in mind when you’re playing Blackout and trying to come out on top. Just pay attention to the world around you, look out for the items that you need, and always be aware of where you’re headed next.
