Call of Duty: Warzone – How to Turn Off Crossplay

For those PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players that are sick of dealing with PC players (sorry, fellow PC players) that are overly dependant on cheats, there’s a way around this particular brand of gamer chaos. If you don’t like crossplay, you don’t have to keep it, making this feature a win/win for all players for those that want to play with friends regardless of platform versus those that just want to enjoy an intact gaming experience.

Now to actually turn off crossplay in Call of Duty: Warzone! It’s really simple but we’ve noticed quite a few people asking us how to do this so to make it really easy for everyone, here’s what you need to know! Go to the Call of Duty: Warzone Options Menu and mosey on over to the Account Tab. Under the Online portion, you’ll notice an option right there that says “Crossplay.” Click the right error to mark it as Disabled and voila! You’ll stick with your pool of players where there still may be some crafty cheaters, but in far less frequency.

With so many excited for crossplay with online games, why would someone want to take that option away? Well, it comes down to individual player preference for the above reasons. Cheating is silly. It doesn’t make you a better player in terms of skill and it ruins the experience for everyone in that match. If you can’t play without cheats, choose an easier game or one that is single-player. It’s that simple. We’re not talking about accessibility programs that help colorblind players or those that may have epileptic triggers, instead, we’re talking about the aimbots and the programs that land insta-kills no matter the player proximity.

It’s not fun to play against a cheater and honestly? We can’t imagine there is any fun in being the cheater. We know that some players opt to use cheats to make the grind for cosmetics faster pace but is that shiny weird unicorn M16 skin truly worth ruining another gamer’s game time? Apparently for some: yes.

Anti-cheat measures are a common occurrence in online games and Call of Duty: Warzone is no exception but unfortunately, these measures are incredibly limited and many cheaters fly under the radar. Reporting helps, but doesn’t totally elimate the issue, and Kill Cams also help to nab those sneaky players. While preventative measures continue to be a focus, at least the option to turn off crossplay in Call of Duty: Warzone makes it a little easier to avoid having a bad match. Or at least a bad match due to hackers. Can’t help ya with that K/D.

As for the game itself, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and by proxy Warzone, is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Now that you know how to turn off crossplay in Call of Duty: Warzone, what do you think about the growing problem of cheaters in online games? Not that serious or a major pain in the behind?
