The Pokemon who lives in Flower Paradise has made its long journey back to Pokemon GO. But can the adorable Gratitude Pokemon, Shaymin, be found Shiny in Pokemon GO? We’ve got your answer here.
Can Shaymin be Shiny in Pokemon GO – Answered
Shaymin is a Mythical Pokemon who periodically appears in Pokemon GO. Last years, trainers who took part in 2022’s Pokemon GO fest had a chance to catch Land Forme Shaymin, and this year the hedgehog Gratitude Pokemon appears again as part of the Special Research Event for Grass and Gratitude.
But can Shaymin be Shiny in Pokemon GO?
Unfortunately, Shaymin has never been Shiny in any event, and 2023 doesn’t seem to be the lucky year either. So, no, Shaymin still doesn’t have a Shiny coloring in Pokemon GO.
It’s hard to tell when we will get a Shaymin with adorable blue succulent leaf head and a lovely hibiscus-esque red flower (though of course we know it’ll always be a Gracidea). But we’ll keep our fingers crossed that next Spring it will finally make its Shiny debut in the game.

If Shaymin does ever appear as Shiny, it will probably be among one of the hardest Shiny Pokemon to obtain. This is in large part because it appears almost exclusively as a single encounter related to Special Research. That means there’s no way to farm it, and Mythical Pokemon can’t be traded.
That makes a Shiny Mythical Pokemon the ultimate status symbol to flex. And with Shiny rates being extraordinarily low (only 1 in 500), any Shiny Shaymin you might find in the far future, when it finally releases, makes it one you should really covet.
