Tapu Bulu is the guardian deity of Ula’ula Island, and it’s also a Pokemon you can periodically encounter in Pokemon GO. It made its debut all the way back in April 2022, and on its one-year anniversary, it’s back as a 5-Star Raid Boss.
And, yes, it’s possible to encounter Shiny Tapu Bulu!
For the first time, trainers will be able to find a Shiny Tapu Bulu in Raids, but the likelihood of encountering it in its black-and-yellow form is quite small. You only have a 1 in 500 chance of seeing it glitter.

Five-Star raid bosses tend to be quite tough, and the more trainers you have on your team, the better. Tapu Bulu, like the rest of the island guardian deities, isn’t a slouch in battle. And while it’s no Kartana, it definitely has utility, particularly in the Master League.
