Virizion is back in the 5-star raids in Pokemon Go. The Grassland Pokemon is here for trainers to challenge from December 1 to December 8, 2022. There will be also a special Raid Hour held from 18:00 to 19:00 local time on his second to last day available, December 7, where you can find it even more easily.
Virizion is a Grass/Fighting Pokemon, meaning that Flying types are the best choice if you’re looking for a smooth victory leading to a good catch. But can Virizion be Shiny in Pokemon Go or is he also locked from his alternative, cooler colors?

Can Virizion Be Shiny in Pokemon Go?
If you’re a fan of this member of the Swords of Justice group, you’ll be happy to hear that Virizion can be found as Shiny during Raids. This form of his was released back in 2020 and it’s making a return this week. If you’re lucky enough, you might randomly find a Shiny Virizion without even trying. And don’t waste that chance if you have it!
The best time for trying would surely be the aforementioned Raid Hour, in which his appearance rate will be greatly boosted. With that said, don’t refrain from looking for it during the rest of the week. We never know when we could hit the Shiny jackpot.

What Are the Chances for Virizion to be Shiny in Pokemon Go?
Just like other Legendary and Mythical Pokemon found in Go, Virizion has a 1/20 chance of being Shiny, which is pretty huge, to be honest. That’s a 5% chance of meeting a red version of the Unova Legendary, something that Shiny hunters from the main series would die and kill for.
The chances are not directly boosted during Raid Hours, but since you can find Virizion easier during those, it might be a good idea to save some Raid Passes for the occasion.
