Can You Pause Redfall? – Answered
So, pausing Redfall does not actually stop the game. Even in single-player, if you open up the menu screen, the game will continue to happen in the background. So if you’re not in a safe house or hidden away from enemies, a vampire or cultist can kill you. We’re not sure why this is the case when you’re playing single-player, but be warned that you can not pause Redfall if something happens in real life mid-game.

Of course, take care of whatever you need to do in real life; Redfall is not as important as whatever is going on around you. Just maybe stop at a safe house before you go to grab more snacks or a cup of coffee.
At least if you’re playing multiplayer with some friends, you can ask them to watch your back while you go take care of whatever you need to. If you’re playing single player always make sure you’re in a safe area so those nasty vampires don’t get a free lunch.
