With all of the dogs in this game being murderous menaces, let’s give some attention to the second petting option: cats. In Lies of P, there’s a cute orange cat living in Hotel Krat named Spring, and it deserves affection. But can you pet the cat in Lies of P?
Can You Pet the Cat in Lies of P?
Yes, you can pet the cat in Lies of P! While this small goofball is suspicious of you at first, it will slowly open itself to you and let you give some well-deserved pats. All you gotta do is become a real boy, and cats suddenly start loving you!
Where to Find the Cat in Lies of P
You can find the cat in various locations around Hotel Krat throughout the whole game. He’s usually next to Eugenie in his bed, but you can sometimes find him in the corridors upstairs or in Geppetto’s office. Sometimes, Spring is just hiding on the first floor next to where you can find Antonia.
So if you’re having trouble finding the cat in Lies of P, try looking in the following locations:
- On Spring’s cat bed next to Eugenie.
- On the table in Geppetto’s office.
- On top of the suitcases on the second floor.
- On the couch to the right of Antonia.
- On the reception desk shelf behind Polendina.
Regardless of where you find the cat, Spring will initially be wary of you and won’t even let you touch him. But the more you progress through the game, the more Spring will let you touch him, to the point where he even demands you pet him! Now that’s what we call making a real cat in a game.
How to Get the Cat in Lies of P to Like You
The cat will only get closer to you if you continuously choose to lie (gain more humanity) and listen to the records in the Hotel. If you tell the truth and avoid lying, Spring won’t get as close to you. He’ll usually start to open up around Chapter V.
When you get as human as you can be, you will unlock the ultimate cat-person perk: grab the cat and have a good look at his chubby belly. If a cat allows that, he definitely loves you! You will be able to start grabbing Spring when you see the “Your heart is pounding” messages after making a decision, indicating your humanity is at a high level.
Unfortunately, getting some good cat pics is harder than it should be in this game, but the little guy will always be around for us to gaze at him. And fortunately, we can pet the cat in Lies of P as much as we want.
