Warhammer 40K: Darktide is developer Fatshark’s newest edition to their Left 4 Dead-like horde shooter series which takes the player far, far into a dystopian future as they purge heretics in the grim metropolis of Tertium. As the game’s difficulty is tailored around a group of four, you’ll always be match-made with three other prisoners for each mission you embark on. Unfortunately, this has some of the player base a little ticked off, as they’ve expressed concerns over the lack of solo-play options through Darktide’s Steam forums. So, can you play Warhammer 40K: Darktide solo? Keep reading to find out.

Can You Play Warhammer 40K: Darktide Solo?
The most accurate answer at the time of this writing, which happens to be during the dawn of the pre-order beta period, is not just yet. According to Fatshark’s first community update, solo-play with bots will be coming to Darktide, and will most likely arrive with the official launch on November 30. It’s unlikely that players will be able to play missions literally by themselves, without any bots on their team, as the enemy hordes and overall game difficulty is carefully tailored towards four-player groups, but those looking to complete missions at their own pace, without interruption by other players, should have hope for the future.
Can You Host Private Matches in Warhammer 40K: Darktide?
At the time, it’s not possible to host private matches just yet, but this is another promise that Fatshark aims to deliver upon the game’s official release. At the moment, the only way to have a pseudo-private match is to invite three other friends to your strike team and start a mission. If you don’t have enough friends to fill an entire strike team, the remaining spots will be filled by other match-made players.
