So, if you’re like me, you’ve likely been scratching your head trying to figure out what the hell Alexa Game Control is after seeing it mentioned in the Dead Island 2 reveal. Well, after some careful research and asking around, we found an answer. Here’s what the Alexa Game Control for Dead Island 2 is.
Dead Island 2 Alexa Game Control: What is it?
Ok, so, let’s say you purchase Dead Island 2 on PC or Xbox, and you’re thinking to yourself, “Man, I really wish I could shout at the top of my lungs to change weapons.” Well, the big strong minds at Amazon have figured out how to cater to your wishes. Alexa Game Control allows you to input commands to the game via voice controls, which, don’t get me wrong, is great for accessibility. More options, if you have the hardware, are always welcomed.
However, then you look at the website and see a very angry gamer yelling that he needs to find the nearest quest, and you really begin to wonder how we got here in the first place.

Look, I did not Photoshop this. This is on the official Alexa Game Control website, and you can see it for yourself here.
Here’s the official Amazon description of the product and what it can do.
“Use your voice to interact with NPCs, swap your weapons, and much more on your favorite PC and Xbox games. Play with any microphone or headset, no Alexa device required. And Alexa is still there to ensure you can stay in the game with smart home control, reminders, and even food ordering.”
Dead Island 2 seems to be the first AAA game to use the feature massively, and we’re interested to see how it pains out. It depends on how loud I have to be and if the neighbors will call the cops if I yell, “switch to my strongest weapon!”
That’s everything you need to know about what Alexa Game Control is for Dead Island 2. We also got a release date for Dead Island 2 at Gamescom Opening Night Live.
