Masterwork Weapons have made their way into Destiny 2, and in the latest update after Curse of Osiris, players can finally start working towards the end-game goals that will help make their Guardian become a legend in the world, and while these weapons are extremely tough to acquire, today we’ll show you how to increase your odds, so you can get your hands on even more Masterwork Weapons.
Keep in mind that like any end-game item, Masterwork Weapons will take some time and work to obtain, so be ready to embrace the grind if you really want to get your hands on these powerful variants. While you can survive without them, they do offer some of the most powerful stats and perks out of the weapons available in Destiny 2.
What are Masterwork Weapons?
Before we dive in, though, let’s take a quick look at Masterwork Weapons and what these items really are. Masterwork Weapons are basically just Legendary weapons that have some additional stat changes and advantages over their normal Legendary versions. This means that you can get weapons that create Orbs of Light on multi-kills. The biggest thing that players will love, though, is the fact that Masterwork Weapons come with random and re-rollable weapon stats, allowing you to truly create a beast of a gun.
How to Get Masterwork Weapons
Unfortunately, there isn’t a guaranteed way to get yourself a Masterwork Weapon in Destiny 2. However, there are several things that you can do to increase your odds, making it easier to get your hands on these end-game items.
Naturally, like their standard counterparts, Masterwork Weapons will drop from normal Legendary Engrams, meaning you’ll want to stock up on these items to increase your chance of getting a Masterwork Weapon from the Cryptarch. The good news is that there are still plenty of ways to get Legendary Engrams, and we’ve listed them below:
- Turn in Vendor Tokens
- Open Planetary and Public Event Chats
- Complete Milestones
- Complete Trials of the Nine
- Complete the segments of the Leviathan Raid
Of course, out all of these options, your best bet is going to be to complete Trials of the Nine and the Leviathan Raid as they offer the highest drop rates for Legendary Engrams dropping as Masterwork Weapons, so if you can, make sure you’re running these activities as much as possible.
