With Destiny 2 going free-to-play in September there’s never been a better time than now to become a Guardian. Thanks to a steady stream of updates, expansion, and patches, the game is in peak form, so why not jump in ahead of the new expansion?
The trouble is trying to figure out which class you want to be is hard. To help you solve that issue, we’ve put together this Destiny 2 Warlock Class guide, as well as one for Hunters and Titans too. That way, you’ve got all of the information you need to make a decision.
Destiny 2 Warlock Guide
The Warlock should be the class for you if you like the idea of being a mystical powerhouse. One of the key draws of this class is their incredible recovery prowess, which helps you stay in the fight. When you couple this with some of the obnoxiously powerful attacks they can pull off, then it’s very easy to see the appeal.
The unique ability of the Warlock is to deploy a special rift. This rift can either heal or boost the damage output of you and your allies. It makes them a very worthy addition to any team as they can be essential in some boss fights. Each of the three subclasses has its own Super Move, and that’s a big part of the decision here.
Warlock Dawnblade
Those who choose the path of the Dawnblade are going to find themselves being very comfortable in the air and capable of dealing massive damage. You can magic up a powerful solar sword and some fiery wings to lay waste to the hordes of evil opposing you.
The Forsaken variant allows you to slam your sword into the floor to create a massive version of the Warlock Rift that heals and buffs you and your allies.
Warlock Stormcaller
The Stormcaller is about as close to being one of the X-Men as you can manage in Destiny 2. With the power to channel electricity, you become a force of nature capable of mowing down hordes of enemies. The Super Move has you floating around shooting lightning out of your hands, and it decimates enemies.
Forsaken allows you to opt for a Super Move that fires a long-range beam of energy instead of the usual short-range attack.
Warlock Voidwalker
The Voidwalker variant is all about huge one-shot attacks with a small hint of vampirism. The super move fires a massive Nova Bomb that can be upgraded in a variety of ways including a homing variant. It’s a great choice if you like to just fire and forget.
With Forsaken you can choose to use the Nova Warp. This ability lets you teleport around and create explosions as you go.
