There is corruption in Sanctuary, and its name is Varshan. And if you like loot, killing the season’s big boss (over and over and over) is an excellent way to get some rare and legendary items. Here’s how to get and use the Foul Invoker of Varshan in Diablo 4.
Diablo 4: How to Get and Use Foul Invokers of Varshan
If you’ve completed the campaign, you’ve seen the bittersweet end of Cormond’s journey. But is it really the end? After defeating Varshan for the first time, you’ll get the Invoker of Varshan, allowing you to fight an Echo of Varshan. This is the first step to getting a Foul Invoker of Varshan.
To get a Foul Invoker of Varshan, you’ll need to:
- Complete the season one campaign and defeat Varshan.
- Fight an Echo of Varshan in the Malignant Tunnels with the Invoker of Varshan.
- Craft a Foul Invoker of Varshan.
Once you defeat Varshan for the first time, he’ll drop a recipe for the Invoker of Varshan. This Invoker can then open doors that appear in the Malignant Tunnels. These wooden doors have chains on them, and there’s no guarantee they’ll appear in the Malignant Tunnels you’ll complete.
However, I’ve noticed they’re more likely to appear at the end of the Malignant Tunnels, beside the Corrupted Chamber, where you’d select which Outgrowth you want to invoke.
Once you’ve defeated your first Echo of Varshan, he’ll drop a recipe for the Foul Invoker of Varshan. This Invoker can then be crafted at Cormond’s bench for the low, low price of an Invoker of Varshan and 50 Sigil Dust.

But just crafting the Foul Invoker isn’t enough. You must be on World Tier 3 to use the Foul Invoker of Varshan on an Outgrowth. Otherwise, you’ll only summon your standard-level Varshan.
