There are quite a few morbid and disturbing dungeons in Diablo 4, but Shadowed Plunge might take the cake. In this dungeon, prisoners are forced to mate with snakes in order to create Nangari, a process that’s often deadly for the prisoner. So, let’s go save them. Here’s how to find and complete the Shadowed Plunge Dungeon in Diablo 4.
How to Find and Complete the Shadow Plunge Dungeon in Diablo 4
To find Shadowed Plunge, you’ll need to complete the Hawezar Stronghold Vyeresz. Once that’s complete, you’ll find it in the top right of what once was the Stronghold.
Free Seven Prisoners
Once inside, you’ll be tasked with freeing seven prisoners. They’re bound to stakes scattered throughout the dungeon, and to get to them, you’ll have to defeat Serpentcallers, Serpent Cultists, and Nangari.
There are five Elite enemies in this section, with one additional Elite spawning, if you open a chest. A Poison Resistance Elixir will help you deal with some of the damage they’ll put out.
While dungeons are procedurally generated, you can expect to encounter something like this, with the squares representing a bound prisoner.

Once all seven prisoners are freed, the enchanted door will open.
Travel to the Egg Incubation Chambers
When you pass through the door, you’ll enter a small chamber that you’ll be sealed into. A huge hoard of Nangari will spawn in, including one Elite.
Once they’re all defeated, the barrier will drop, and you’ll arrive in the Egg Incubation Chamber.
Destroy the Three Ward of Eyes
In this section of the dungeon, the enemies will become predominantly Nangari and snakes, especially as you near a Ward of Eyes.
Ward of Eyes are pillars, usually set in rooms, which are absolutely surrounded by Nangari. As you get the Ward of Eyes to half health, three new Nangari will spawn in. As the Ward of Eyes reaches its last sliver of health, an Elite Nangari will spawn in.
There are a grand total of 18 Elites in this section, with a massive pack clustered around one of the Ward of Eyes. These Elites include Serpentcallers and Nangari. While this pack offers a healthy amount of experience, their position in the latter half of the level means that it’s not the most efficient dungeon to farm.
Once all three Ward of Eyes are destroyed, the dungeon will be marked as complete.
Aspect of Branching Volleys
Upon competition, you’ll get the Aspect of Branching Volleys, which is exclusive to Rogues.
- Barrage’s arrows have a 15% chance to split into 2 arrows whenever they ricochet.
This Aspect works well on a Barrage Rogue Endgame build.
