Diablo 4’s Sorcerer class gets access to enchantments, allowing you to improve a chosen skill and receive passive effects. You can access this by heading into your abilities menu and selecting Skill Assignment or pressing S on your keyboard. Every spell, excluding Ultimate abilities, can be slotted here to get a bonus.

However, until you reach level 30, you can only put one spell here at a time but swap them out whenever you’d like. Unlike refunding skills, swapping out enchantment spells costs no gold or other currency. Additionally, it’s easier than swapping weapons, and if you struggle with this, check out how to swap weapons in Diablo 4.

When you first unlock a skill in your abilities menu, you can see the enchantment effect under its general description, telling you what perks it’ll receive when placed in the enchantment slot. You can also find these same descriptions in the enchantment menu by hovering over them. You’ll start with only one slot for enchantments but will unlock a second one after reaching character level 30.

To activate the enchantment, drag any spell you’d like into the empty slot. By doing this, you’ll get the stated perk on that specific skill, but others will be unaffected unless you swap spells. Doing this is especially helpful if you’re using a particular build with a few special skills you want to buff.

Diablo 4 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. To learn more about the game, check out our Diablo 4 Necromancer Book of the Dead Guide or click the Diablo IV tag below to browse our entire content library!
