With previous Pokemon DLC adventures, we’ve needed to wait for Nintendo to push out an update before we could jump into the fun. Do you need to do the same with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Epilogue, or can you just jump right in?

Is There an Update For Pokemon Scarlet & Violet?

Unlike previous DLC entries, there is no update required for this one, but you’ll still need to connect to the internet to get a necessary item required to start this Epilogue adventure. If you’re anything like me, you sat there refreshing your Switch and possibly even giving it a restart to see if a new update needed to be pushed through, with nothing coming down the pipeline. As of 9:00 AM EST, you can jump into this Epilogue without needing an update. The Epilogue is included directly with the Indigo Disk DLC, so it’s already on your system and ready to go.

If you’re struggling to start the DLC after receiving this item, you’re also not alone. Normally, there is a phone call or something at the start of the DLC adventure to let you know where you should be going, so be sure to find out how to start the Epilogue off properly. You may also need to know where to find a quest item to progress the story, but beyond that, just prepare for a fun story and a few challenging Pokemon battles along the way as you race toward the finish. We’ll give you a hint: don’t eat the Mochi if it gets offered to you.
