Let’s not fool ourselves; in horror games, you want to save your game as much as possible can because you will end up in peril often (especially if you’re a first-timer) and lose your progress. This is where the autosave feature comes in, which saves the game on your behalf in case you forget to do it manually. Here’s what you need to know about whether Amnesia: The Bunker has autosave or not.
Can You Auto-Save in Amnesia: The Bunker?
No, Amnesia: The Bunker does not have autosave. You will see a “Progress Saved” message pop up two or three times during gameplay after an important event happens, but that’s as far as it goes.

Do not be fooled by the Dinamo Flashlight appearing in the bottom-right corner as you phase between the zones; it’s not an autosave. It’s a “loading” indicator. I tested it myself, so you don’t have to.
This means that most of the time, you’re on your own. You’ll notice that when you pause, there is no “Save Game” option, which naturally produces the question “how the heck do I save my game in Amnesia: The Bunker then?”
How to Save Game in Amnesia: The Bunker
Saving your game in Amnesia: The Bunker is not complicated. As shown in the image at the top of the article, there is a lantern located in the Administration Room, which is your “safe room” throughout your playthrough.
When you approach the lantern, interact with it to save. It really is that simple!
Here’s a tip from someone who cleared the entire game on Normal, and then on Easy (I am still not eager to jump in on the Hard and I sadly do not have that much time): not all difficulties have the same amount of lanterns scattered throughout the Bunker. I wanted to point out an important lantern here, but I decided to keep this article as spoiler-free as possible.
