Lethal Company has been quickly gaining popularity since it was released this past October. It has proven, once again, that a game does not need an incredibly complex story and top-notch graphics to be super addictive and fun; all you really need are friends to play it with.
Does Lethal Company Support Crossplay?
Currently Lethal Company does not support cross-play, as it is only available on Steam. By definition, this disqualifies Lethal Company from supporting crossplay. It will depend on Zeekerss, the game’s developer and publisher, to make it available on other consoles, such as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or Nintendo Switch in the future.
Being able to play with your friends regardless of which console they’re playing on can enhance the overall experience of the game. If that happens, it’s up to Zeekerss to determine how they’d like cross-play to be implemented into the game.
How to Play Lethal Company Co-op
For now, the only way to engage in co-op play is if you all play on PC. The minimum requirements to play Lethal Company are a 64-bit processor and operating system, at least 2048 MB of dedicated video RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Video card or equivalent, and at least 1GB of free storage space.
If your friends also have Lethal Company downloaded on their PCs, there are two ways to play with them: online or via a LAN connection. For an online session, you’ll have to follow the now well-known ritual where one of you hosts a room with a password and then the rest of the party joins.
For the more old-school, but stable experience of playing together through LAN, each of you will need a LAN cable to be connected to the same terminal, a router or a network switch is ideal. If successfully achieved, you now only need to boot up the game and select LAN instead of online.
Will Lethal Company Ever Get Crossplay?
At this time, we can’t say for sure if Lethal Company will ever get crossplay. For Lethal Company to add crossplay, it first needs to release on other platforms, and right now, there is no information on whether Lethal Company will be ported to consoles.
You should keep in mind that Lethal Company is a very new game that is still in Early Access, so it first needs to be perfected for PC before it has a chance to be ported. This may take quite a while, especially considering Lethal Company is currently being worked on by only one person.
But we can say with some confidence, we wouldn’t be surprised if Lethal Company eventually comes to consoles. The game has only just released on Early Access, and it’s already extremely popular, recently setting a record for concurrent players on Steam and ranking top of the charts for Steam’s best-rated games released in 2023. With this amount of attention and player activity, it would be criminal if Lethal Company weren’t ported to other platforms.
As to if and how Zeekerss wants to make Lethal Company crossplay once it’s available across multiple platforms, only time will tell.
