Is The Day Before Crossplay-Friendly?

As of this article’s writing, it’s unclear if The Day Before will feature crossplay. Developer Fntastic aims to launch the survival title on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 when it’s fully ready, and unfortunately, no official details hint that gamers could play together across platforms.

Of course, while development is still ongoing, it’s hard to make an accurate assumption. What’s clear is that Fntastic is planning to focus squarely on the PC version and will return to consoles later, following its announcement about early access coming December 7 on Steam.

“Full version release will happen when we are certain this is the best version of the game possible, and we believe that player feedback and involvement will greatly contribute to achieving this goal,” explained Fntastic in a Twitter post on November 1. “The next-gen console version will also come with the full release.”

Judging from how player reception bubbles around the PC version and plans develop during this phase, crossplay might get brought up later. Regardless, we’re a long way off from hearing more.

Does The Day Before Have Cross-Platform Support?

Likewise, Fntastic has yet to address whether The Day Before will feature cross-platform support. With it being an MMO (and probably requiring an account of sorts to log in), cross-platform could be a feature in this game’s future, but nothing at this time really supports that speculation.

It’s assumed once Fntastic drops details about the console versions is when we’ll know more. But as mentioned, that’s a while off. If you and your friends want to play The Day Before together, you’re better off hopping onto the PC version if you’re eager to jump in soon.
