The First Descendant is the latest multiplayer title from NEXON, and it’s their take on the looter-shooter genre. Like many multiplayer and even single-player games, additional accounts are often required for functionality and additional features. However, does The First Descendant require a NEXON account? Here is everything you need to know.
Does The First Descendant Require a NEXON Account?
You don’t need a NEXON account to play The First Descendant, but a NEXON account is required for cross-progression and Twitch drops.
A NEXON account is also not required if you want to make use of the game’s crossplay features. The account is strictly required for cross-saves/progression and access to Twitch drops.
How to Link Nexon Account with The First Descendant
Linking the account is pretty simple. From the game’s settings, head into the last tab called Account, and select the Link button next to Link Account.
This will open another screen with a Link Nexon Account button, which will open a link in the external browser with sign-in details and instructions to link the account.
Alternatively, you can link your account by simply visiting the NEXON login page. After you have created a NEXON account, head into Settings followed by Linked Accounts, and then Link/Delink Account under EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS.
The First Descendant Twitch Drops
Twitch Drops for the title are also live, and you will need to link your NEXON account to Twitch. You can link the account directly from this page and earn the following drops by watching streams for specific durations.
Item | Total watched minutes required |
---|---|
“Delicious Pizza” Chest Attachment | 15 minutes |
15,000 Gold and 1,500 Kuiper Shards | 30 minutes |
“Gloomy” Emote | 60 minutes |
“Twitch Color” Paints | 90 minutes |
“X-Ray” Back Attachment | 120 minutes |
The Twitch Drops are available from 00:00 Tuesday, July 2, 2024 to 00:00 Monday, July 29, 2024 (PDT).
While there are definitely some benefits to linking The First Descendant to a NEXON account, if you aren’t interested in cross-saves or the Twitch drops above, you can keep playing with just your regular account.
