How Crossplay Works in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
As seen in the chart above provided by the developers, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s crossplay is current-gen exclusive. In a post on their website called “Crossplay Explained,” Sumo Digital and Gun Interactive say the following:
- PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S (ninth generation) can matchmake with each other
- Xbox One will only be able to matchmake with other Xbox One players (eighth generation Xbox).
- PlayStation 4 players will only be able to matchmake with other PlayStation 4 players (eighth generation PlayStation).
Although it is exciting that The Texas Chainsaw Massacre includes crossplay capabilities for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, the lack of the feature could be detrimental to the PS4 and Xbox One versions’ player bases and longevity.
